You can easily buy templates online at Suitup Art Supplies, the webshop for all your art supplies. With stencil art you can brighten up your interior or clothing in a very cheap and fun way. Templates are also ideal for use in graffiti and street art. Painting with stencils is a lot faster and delivers perfect results every time. There are many artists and graffiti artists who choose templates, such as Banksy’s art. All you need is a nice template and a pot of paint in a nice color. Create an appropriate word, quote or date with template letters or numbers. Or work with shapes and themes, such as a template of a flower, star, butterfly, mandala, Christmas or animals. For a truly personal result, you can of course also make your own template with stencil paper. This can be done by hand or with a cutting plotter.

What is stencil art?
A stencil is usually a piece of flexible plastic or cardboard with a shape cut out of it. You can smear or spray paint on this, so that the shape appears on the surface. With templates you always get a perfect result and are therefore very easy to use. Templates are incredibly easy to use. Ways to apply stencil art at home: Paint an appropriate quote or the names of your family members on the wall. Use templates in the nursery or baby’s room! Paint your child’s name on the bedroom door in his or her favorite color. You can also paint the alphabet or the tables on the wall so that your child can practice this a lot. Templates are also great for outdoor use around the home. A nice quote in the backyard, your house number in a nice font or how about a hopscotch for the kids! Keep in mind that you use paint that is intended for outside. Templates can be used indoors, but they can also be used outdoors for street art or graffiti. How do you paint a template?
First of all, ensure a grease-free, clean and dry surface. The best result is obtained with a flat surface, such as a wall. When you work with individual letters, it is nice to apply a guideline with a pencil. Hold the stencil firmly to the surface with your fingers, tape or spray adhesive. When applying the paint, use a brush, roller or use a spray can. Carefully remove the stencil immediately after painting, while the paint is still wet. Clean the stencil after use and use it as often as you want!

How do I make my own template?
To make your own unique template you need stencil foil. You can draw and cut out your desired shape or quote for your template on this foil. Cut this out with a simple hobby knife on a cutting mat, or use a cutting plotter for a more professional result.
